‘Chris Cornell’ conmemora no solo la vida y su legado como cantante, sino también como poeta y como uno de los compositores más prolíficos de su generación, además de ser una de las voces más grandiosas del rock moderno.
La selección de los 17 temas de Chris Cornell muestra el alcance total de sus logros artísticos, desde el tema cumbre de Soundgarden ‘Black Hole Sun’, hasta el lúgubre anhelo de ‘Hunger Strike’ de Temple of the Dog. La profundidad sensible de ‘Like A Stone’ de Audioslave o su tema en solitario de la película de 2006, James Bond Casino Royale, ‘You Know My Name’. Esta colección también contiene un par de grabaciones inéditas: una versión conmovedora de ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ de Prince y When Bad Goes Good’. Encontrada en su archivo personal, producida, grabada y mezclada por Cornell.
Se pone a la venta una edición limitada de Super Deluxe 4CD, 1DVD y 7LP. La edición Super Deluxe contiene 88 pistas, 64 canciones más 24 videos, con 13 pistas (11 de audio + 2 de video) nunca visto antes. También se incluye un libro fotográfico de tapa dura de 66 páginas envuelto en lino con una portada de papel rojo firmada, tres litografías de artistas, tres lithos fotocromáticos inspirados en la fascinación lírica de Cornell por el sol (las imágenes cobran vida con luz solar), una alfombra para plato, un paño de microfibra de limpieza de vinilo y un póster de pared de 36 x 48 pulgadas.
Las diez actuaciones inéditas en vivo de la caja incluyen el dúo de Cornell con Cat Stevens en ‘Wild World’ y otro dúo con su hija, Toni Cornell, en el clásico imborrable de Bob Marley, ‘Redemption Song’.
