Se publican dos rarezas de Rory Gallagher pertenecientes a la caja de lujo de la edición del 50 aniversario de ‘Deuce’. Tras el anuncio del lanzamiento el 30 de septiembre de la 50th Anniversary Edition Deluxe Boxset su aclamado segundo álbum de 1971 ‘Deuce’, se presentan dos pistas raras (escuchar más abajo). Se trata de los temas inéditos ‘Crest Of A Wave’ (Alt. Take 2) y ‘Used To Be (50th Anniversary Edition)’. Detalle de todos los contenidos de la caja más abajo.
Este extenso boxset profundiza en los Archivos de Rory Gallagher e incluirá una nueva mezcla del álbum original, veintiocho tomas alternativas inéditas, un ‘In Concert’ en The BBC Radios de 1972 con seis canciones, y además siete pistas de una sesión de radio en Radio Bremen.
También contendrá un libro de tapa dura de 64 páginas con prólogo de Johnny Marr de The Smiths, imágenes no vistas del fallecido Mick Rock, ensayos y recuerdos de la grabación del álbum. Las ediciones en 2CD y el 3LP serán versiones resumidas de la caja de lujo y habrá un 1 LP exclusivo para D2C ‘BBC In Concert – Live at The Paris Theatre, 13 January 1972’.
Lanzado en noviembre de 1971, solo seis meses después de su debut homónimo en solitario, el segundo álbum de Rory Gallagher, Deuce, fue el resumen de todo lo que había prometido a raíz del colapso de Taste. Rory quería capturar la sensación de una actuación en vivo, por lo que buscaría grabar inmediatamente después de los conciertos en vivo mientras mantenía la producción al mínimo.
Eligió a Tangerine Studios, un pequeño estudio de reggae, en Dalston, en el este de Londres, debido a su historia con el legendario productor Joe Meek. Con Gerry McAvoy en el bajo y Wilgar Campbell en la batería, el álbum fue diseñado por Robin Sylvester y producido por Rory. Deuce presenta muchos aspectos destacados de Rory, desde la abrasadora ‘Crest Of A Wave’ hasta el ‘I’m Not Awake Yet’ con influencia celta.
